Chromatography
Supercritical fluid chromatography offers significant advantages compared to HPLC, such as much faster separations due to its high mass transfer coefficients, significant reduction in solvent usage, higher selectivity, purity and throughput, as well as the elimination of costly eluent-product separation procedures. Conventional HPLC requires a large amount of solvents, which results in increased regulatory and disposal costs.
The main applications in the process scale are in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological areas, principally in the separation of chiral and natural products.
Thar Process has designed, built and commissioned the largest supercritical fluid dynamic axial chromatography column in the world to purify micronutrients from edible oil.
